Coriander – Coriandrum sativum

Coriander as a cut flower? Absolutely! This is one I personally love using in my bouquets.

When you let coriander bolt, delicate white flower umbels appear on airy stems. The effect is somewhat reminiscent of Ammi majus, but personally, I prefer using coriander. It’s wonderfully delicate and airy among other flowers and stays surprisingly beautiful in a vase. Harvest it when all the flowers are open. 

After flowering, decorative green seed heads also appear, so you can continue to enjoy them in bouquets later on.

Sowing: March–June, directly outdoors
Position: full sun to light partial shade
Height: approx. 60–80 cm
Flowering: June–August
Type: annual
Use: cut flower, airy filler & seed heads, herb. 

My tip: don’t sow everything at once; instead, sow a few batches several weeks apart. This way, you can harvest fresh stems for your bouquets for longer.
