Craspedia Globosa Drumstick

Craspedia Globosa Drumstick

The incredibly popular yellow drumsticks (Craspedia Globosa) make an excellent cut or dried flower. Craspedia originates from Australia, where it's a perennial, but it often freezes to death in our country. The plant can survive a very mild winter in a sheltered spot. However, it's best to sow them again every year like other annuals. Harvest the stems and hang them upside down for use as dried flowers ; they retain their color.

Sowing tips

Sow in spring, from late February /March to June. It takes about 14 to 18 days at an average temperature of 21-24°C for Craspedia to germinate.
You can plant out Craspedia starting in May after the danger of frost has passed. It takes about 110-120 days from seed to mature plant.
