Lathyrus Odoratus "Enchanté" – Fragrant Sweet Pea Seeds
Why choose Lathyrus Odoratus?
Sweet peas are a must in any cutting garden. This is the variety "Enchante", one of my first varieties that I first sowed years ago. Sweet pea Enchanté is a variety bred by Dr. Keith Hammett from Auckland, New Zealand. Tricoloured colour mix of lavender, deep pink and white.
Tips for sowing sweet peas
- 🌱 Easy to sow : Lathyrus odoratus grows quickly.
Sow sweet peas in deep pots or a root trainer in the greenhouse. You can do this in the autumn for stronger plants and earlier flowers. Or from January. A little bottom heat helps with germination. You can use a heating mat for this.
Care and growth of Lathyrus flowers
- 🌸 Fragrant flowers for a romantic atmosphere in the garden.
Harvest every 3 days to maintain a steady stream of these sweet-smelling flowers. If you want an exuberant bloom, be sure to provide liquid plant food or a rich soil.
- ☀️ Suitable for pots, flower beds and climbing aids
Sweet peas need to be tied up because they can climb up to 2m40 high. Jute garden twine is handy for tying up climbing plants.
