Lunaria annua (biennis) - Judas coin
Lunaria annua (biennis) - Judas coin
This biennial doesn't look like much but let this plant produce its cotyledons (after the violet flower has been pollinated) and you will see the "tokens" for which this plant is highly sought after. The purple flowers look a bit like those of the Hesperis.
Nice to use in fresh bouquets (the tokens are then green) or dried (remove the membrane from the tokens and a mother-of-pearl membrane appears)
Sow: from June to October, best plant out before winter.
Site : sun, partial shade
Flowering time : April - June
Height : 90 cm
Content : +/- 50 seeds/1 gram
