Foxglove - Digitalis purpurea "Alba"
Foxglove - Digitalis purpurea "Alba"
Digitalis purpurea "Alba"
This variant has - very exceptionally - pure white flowers, so no speckles on the calyxes which occur in other varieties. Very handsome!
Sow from June to September. Plant out for the winter at the destination.
The seed needs light to germinate so do not cover it with soil. It takes between 14-21 days for germination.
This is a biennial plant, so in the first year it produces leaf rosettes and in the second year in spring it produces flower stems.
Attention! The entire digitalis plant (and seed) is poisonous. Wear gloves when harvesting. A real delicacy for bumblebees and bees. Can handle both shade and sun.
